Surely lil ol Toyota with its shuddering Camry with the nearly 10 year old U660/760E tranny with no dipstick and endlessly stacked rotten truck frames behind dealers cant single handedly bring down GM?
The Camry's a unibody, those stacked frames must be from Fords.

Toyota truck frames.

Improperly made for Toyota by Dana Corp. Dana Corp. lost a multi-million dollar lawsuit to Toyota as a result.

Toyota used the frames, so they either had an inferior specification the frames were built to, or were negligent in confirming the quality of the frames being provided.

If you read the lawsuit which Toyota won against Dana Corp., you would know the answer to that.

For over a decade Toyota built their trucks on frames that they failed to verify the integrity of. Their name was on the tailgate and are ultimately responsible.

Clearly you have an ax to grind with Toyota.

The bottom line, and you would know this if you read lawsuit, is that they were mislead that the frames were being made to the proper spec. When it became clear years later that the frames in fact weren't made to spec, Toyota filed suit against Dana Corp. Dana Corp. lost that suit due to their being found liable for the incorrectly made frames.

No matter who made the frames they were bad. Toyota retains the ultimate responsibility.

But at least Toyota did something. Many folks have had the frames replaced and then the dealer replaces other chargeable stuff at the same time. Great facelift for an older truck with some miles.
The key word here is "service". Toyota stood up for their name. They routinely solve problems that other companies must be forced to recall.

Note they have plenty of issues you'll likely never hear about. They are far from perfect.
