I have a 2023 Buick Envision Avenir, currently at 11,000 miles. It is equipped with the CRC shocks. They are not the magnetic type. From what I have been able to determine they are manufactured by ZF. At about 5,000 miles I noticed the ride degraded. Think a car with worn out struts. Only the right front though. Took it in to the Buick dealer, they said because it’s not leaking and the service suspension msg isn’t on that it is fine. To quote, “could not duplicate customers concern”. If you hit a large bump, it will bottom the strut as well as top out the strut. After getting it back from the dealer, I wondered if disconnecting the battery would help or reset anything. Much to my surprise there was a fair amount of corrosion on the negative terminal. Not acid, just corrosion. It made no difference. Strut had just left the chat. I watch a lot of Pine Hollow Diagnostics vids on youtube. Got to thinking maybe if I pulled the fuse controlling the module while
Leaving the battery connected would reset the stupid thing. It worked. Unfortunately that only lasts about a week at stretch. I have a very nice launch scan tool, but needs updates to do this Buick. Sorry for the long post, but does anyone know if there is any way of diagnosing this setup? The struts are frighteningly expensive, at $1200 each list price! Would just like to make it work as advertised!

If it's under warranty let the dealer handle, or better yet, another dealer.
You tried. The $1200.00 is on their dime(s) if it needs to be replaced.

Just was hoping someone on here has had experience with this system. I suspect that if I take the time to find another dealer(which I don’t have) that will look at it, same thing will happen.

Dealers know nothing but what the computer tells you. You have a 5% chance of getting ahold of someone who knows what the deal is. In your case, the system is new, and likely they will know nothing.

Years ago, my 2013 duramax was giving all kinds of codes. They ended up replacing the PCM, throttle body, and various other things. When back a week later with a CEL. They gave me another list of stuff.

Took it to another dealer, and the CEL was due to a DEF heater fault.

Thanks it was all under warraanty

what are crc shocks? if its not magnetic ride is this Buicks version for a nivomat shock absorber?
If you google continuous ride control, seems as though it is a system designed by ZF. Standard type shocks that have computer controlled valves to vary them between hard and soft. The ride is truly great when it is working correctly. I live near Dover Delaware and there is not much as far as Buick dealers. One local here in Dover. They have been really nice and accommodating, but like I said because the strut isn’t leaking and the car has no codes, they are saying nothing wrong. I do find it very strange that pulling the fuse will allow it to work correctly for around 700 miles or so. Then it leaves the chat again. Almost like it goes full soft. And of course it seems to be smart enough to know that because the left strut then seems to be quite firm, which results in an almost pogo body motion. Will make yah car sick. I don’t have much faith in it being diagnosed because most people have gotten use to the ride quality of full size pickups etc and compared to that this Buick still rides better than that when messed up. I figure it will probably tear up enough to set a code or message when it is out of warranty. It’s a shame, as it is an awesome car. Crossed shopped a lot and only drove them because they look nice. Impressed me a lot, and I am NOT a GM guy.

You are not wrong there lol. I will offer that I traded in my very problematic Rav4 Prime that was built in Japan. The build quality of the Buick is far superior I am sad to day

Keep trying to get thru to the dealer(s). Surely they will entertain the reset and working for a week. Or take to Ivan at PHAD. Best wishes. That sucks by the way

That actually surprises me a bit…..
I am quite surprised also. Not looking to make this a brand was or anything like that, but the last 2 Toyota’s I owned were extremely disappointing. I guess as time has went by and vehicles have gotten to where you buy them based on the features that appeal to you vs what brand or whatever it is.
