Also some discussion on fuel economy for diesels. Two oils with the same viscosity, but one with viscosity modifiers. The one with the VM'er outperforms the other in FE testing.
 
With all this new innovation I'm quickly coming to terms with the idea that I'll just be using what is recommended. They say Conventional SN/GF-5 is enough that's what I'll use, they say Synthetic SN/GF-5 then that's what I'll use.

Manufacturers are being extremely careful about what they are designing and recommending from a lubrication stand point.
