That is Pennzoil Gold not Pennzoil Synthetic Blend Dexos 1 Formula. Pennzoil Synthetic Blend Dexos 1 does not show on Pennzoil site so you have to search for it. Maybe Gold was changed to this or vice versa. Anyhow all I am stating is go with what is recommended for warranty then you can go with whatever you want. If you love a certain brand you are entitled to it. You did find updated list which I should have searched harder so I will give it to you but last time I looked at PP it didn't state Dexos and that was this week at Walmart. Anyhow why get worked up over protecting your brand and taking chances that Dealer could give you fits covering an expensive repair.

Gold and dexos synblend are the same. I agree why risk it and just use a dexos oil but some people are very brand loyal or just don't care. I'm not really a valvoline fan but GM would be hard pressed to deny a warranty due to maxlife or Synpower since it is of equal quality. I don't like sodium based additive packs. SOPUS, XOM, or COP oils for me.

Agreed. I haven't seen anything on the web or in a store indicating otherwise. I'm going to try to track down bottles of Gold and the dexos1 blend and compare the UPCs. I bet I'll find the same thing I did with QSED and QS Defy - the same codes.
