Ever been inside a C5-A? I have. That is one huge aircraft. The Russians have an aircraft that is even bigger I think. In fact, counting this massive seaplane they have, the Russians may have two aircraft bigger.
I removed all the copper grease from my first Glock long ago and went straight to using a oil. It's still going strong without any problems what so ever.
If you have a special type/brand you like then go ahead and use it with a smile. Just lube all of the areas that's indicated in the manual and you'll be fine.
