I just had the radiator from my Goldwing out for service, and am wondering what is usable in this bike. It is a 1986 with aluminium engine and copper radiator. Does the radiator require a specific type coolant, or will G-05 be ok? I have heard silicate formulas are harder on water pumps than newer formulations, so if a silica free formula will work, all the better.

I have been using Super Tech extended life green coolant in my '07 VTX1300 since the the first coolant change.
It's supposed to be silicate free.
I do a drain and fill every 2 years.
G05 would be fine if you do a complete flush and fill.

I had a GL1500 and the guys on the Goldwing Forum always recommended to use the Honda blue antifreeze. It cost more but never had to pull the motor to replace the water pump.

The supertech coolant is a dexclone. Its the complete wrong chemistry for a copper radiator like the OP has. Infact we wont warranty a copper rad if the customer uses anything other than silicated green coolant. Your 07 has an aluminum radiator i'm sure and dex is fine for that.

The Zerex Asian blue is on sale at NAPA until the end of July for $10.99 for a gallon, 50/50 pre-mix. That would work well.
