Quick read on the J2360 lubes versus GL-5 from my regular SAE email notices ...

However, as you first might get the impression that the J2360 is going to drive a lot of "new" lubes into the market, once you search the big brand names, they are already on the "approved" list seen here (both conventional and synthetic lubes):

(click on the "Current QPL listing" on the lower left and open the excel file)

This standard is probably a much better means of testing and validating gear lubes, but apparently the market is already flush with many dinos and syns that already meet this standard. Many of the big brand names are already on there; Bran Penn, BP, Castrol, Ashland/Valvoline, Shell, Mobil, Petro-Canada, Pennzoil, etc, etc. Almost 250 choices on the list, with a good selection of vis options.

I do notice Mobil 1 75w90 is not on the list but Mobil Delvac is. Good to know. I plan on changing the diffs in my Subie soon. Probably going to go with Synpower as it is easy to obtain here.

Yeah, I picked up Synpower when I changed the Fluid on the CVPI specifically because it called out that spec. Whats nice about Delvac is it does not contain L.S. Friction Modifier so if I was using a diff that does not want it, thats a good option too; Though, it has to be ordered in.
