Getting the itch: 3500 miles on QSUD short tripper

What are you replacing it with?

Sometimes the itch is because you want to try a new oil. If it is, replace it. If you're doing QSUD again, wait another 2-3k.

Gonna replace it with Mobil 1 5w-20 grey and M1 filter.

That M-1 filter is a little overkill, don't you think? ....for 5000 OCI's....unless your using the M-1 for two oil changes.

I am guilty of mostly rural and highway driving but usually on Nextgen I will go at least 4-5k and that not a syn oil....its usually a nice clean color and the engine runs and looks great still...I use a good filter like Bosch D+ or Pureone and leave it in two changes...so far I ahve been happy and so has my wallet especially with the deals on Nextgen I usually pay more for my filters than 5qts of oil

at a TBN of 9.2, thats better than some oils double the price of QSUD...

Though TBCH, at 4k miles, Im getting the itch to take out the QSUD 5w-20 and Bosch Filter 3422 and put in Amsoil OE 0w-20 and Purolator Synthetic PSL20195

Ive kept my composure by changing the lawnmower, than a week ago I did an OC on my buddys Lumina Van
