Getting rid of interior odor

Perfume has an alcohol base and should over time evaporate away. My dad was a pretty heavy smoke and when he passed in 2009 i was the executor of his estate, house, vehicles etc. He had a 1985 Caprice which was originally a police car. I sold the home and his vehicle. The caprice smelled like smoke and I got a bag of regular Kingsford charcoal briquets and placed about 20 briquets through out the interior and rolled up the windows and after a couple of days the smoke smell was gone. Charcoal works well at absorbing odors over time. Just make sure you use regular charcoal and not the Match light stuff.

Sorry, I gave the same suggestion as you with the charcoal. I had not read any other comments before I posted and did not notice yours until I had already commented. anyway, hopefully he gives charcoal the old college try and will work for him.

I have extreme perfume sensitivity, and had the same problem with a used car I bought. It was fine when I looked at it, but when I came back the next day to buy it, they had taken it to a car wash and apparently dipped it in a vat of "Cherry Car Smell." Nothing got it out. I could smell it across a parking lot.

After trying everything, including professional detailing and ozone gas, I got some Zorbx from Lowe's. Sprayed it on every surface, worked it into the upholstery, carpet and headliner. The smell was gone in five minutes.

Thank You !

Also, believe it or not, charcoal briquettes can help. Pour them into a container and leave for a day or two. They will still be good for grilling later on so they pull double duty.

Daughters car was from a smoker and we've gone thru the whole interior pretty good. But the smell was somewhat still there. So I gave some Zorbx a try, with the recomendation above. Although I have only done 1 application, it has substantually knocked smoke smell pretty good. I syill may buy an ozone machine from Amazon. But I'll try a couple more shots of the Zorbx, before I take that step.
