...and as such am thinking about a new leaf blower. The old Craftsman is 16 years old and ready to retire permanently. A friend of mine works at the local Home Depot store and says Echo makes a pretty good one at a reasonable price. What do you fellas think? I'd like to stay under $200. Gas powered of course.

cant go wrong w an echo!! i wouldnt do an echo saw persay, but trimmer, blower, tiller, you cant go wrong!!

I bought a Craftsman around 3 years ago, it has worked great no complaints. But I now wished I looked into a Stihl handheld blower. I assumed a Sthil blower would cost allot more then a Craftsman, the price is in the same ballpark. So I guess Im saying consider a Stihl if you want my

I got the Stihl BG-86 handheld this past fall. It is a great blower. The nicest part is the spring mounted motor that isolates the vibration. It is very smooth and vibration free with the springs.

i agree echo makes a good saw, just speedwise not on par w husqvarna/jonsered etc, but as for a blower id buy an echo any day over any other brand, including stihl

Small Husky/Jonsered (same saw by the way)is made by Poulan. The equivalent Husky to to CS346 is much heavier and not a particularly stellar performer. OK saw but certainly no better than the CS346. I drilled out the catalytic converter and removed the plastic carb adjustment locks on my CS346 and set the carb to match the freer exhaust. Believe me, it has plenty of speed for a little saw.

Boarticus, i know the first 3 entry level huskys are poulan, i even listed the models in the echo chainsaw post on here, and im not saying echo is a bad saw, but back to topic here, id go with the echo blower for sure

i have a troy-built 4 stroke backpack from HD. starts 1st pull after sitting 2 weeks. thrifty on fuel. i trimmed 1" off the nozzle for more volume (less focus) and really like it. slightly less oomph than a 2-stroke.
