Last few weeks have been a struggle. Strep throat turned into pneumonia. Was down and out for several days. My physical and mental focus has just been off for the past few weeks.

Finally started feeling better and was able to get out. Went down to help my brother at his mill. Helped him fill a couple of little orders Saturday.

Here is twenty five 20' 2x4's. Strange order to me with such long 2x4's.

Then we went up to 7500' elevation to look at some dead walnut trees that a lady gave to my brother. While up there we cut same small dead oak and cherry logs. Turned some of it into wood for the fireplace and smoker. Had to break out the puffer a couple times.

Anyway it feels good to get out. It will take a little time to get back to some normalcy. Baby steps. Hopefully I will be better off come turkey season. The fresh mtn air is good for the mind and soul.

It sucks to be sick. Even with the millions of gallons of hand sanitizer being used, a lot of people get the flu and related diseases in the winter and many probably get it from others.

If you are going to load that pickup like that often, a metal screen tough enough to keep those logs in the bed and not going through the back window when loading, or in a sudden stop would be a great idea. Those logs could kill you if you hit a deer during a sudden stop to avoid a deer. That window is not going to stop that kind of weight from taking on the back of the head of everyone in the cab during any sudden stops.

Good pictures. Sorry to hear you got that sick. I think youre doing the right thing by getting a little activity and building up a little heat in the body. Of course, LOTS of rest and fluids, and good nutrition are also smart. Lay off the junk food, alcohol, etc.

Feel better!

Yeah normally I would have hooked a trailer or used a flatbed with the head ache rack but we started off on a mission to scout and possibly fall a couple large black walnuts. We found a few small oaks and a cherry that were dead or almost down so we hand loaded em up. Short trip down a 15 mph dirt road. Encountered no wildlife at 1400 hours. I needed to give my personal truck a little work after just sitting since early October. Thanks for the safety tips.

the new strain of flu is nasty, bad chest congestion aka Pneumonia.
buy a ventolin and take a few puffs a day to get that stuff out and drink tons of liquid. OTC decongestants help also.

I wonder if taking Pneumonia shot will help?

I was given several scripts.
A antibiotic, steroid, abuterol, and ventilin so I could get back to work right away. I forced myself to drink nearly 2 gallons of water a day while I was really sick.

It still took a couple of weeks back at work to start feeling better. Focus and strength are still a little off. A pain in the backside for sure.

My theory is it's because of the sanitizer that you get sicker than before. Your body needs to be exposed to bugs to build its immune system. Don't expose it and you get sicker and for longer than if you never use the junk.

Me? Never use it and hardly get sick. When I do it's usually for a few days. Nor will I get a flu shot.

Agreed! I wont say I'm never sick, but last year was my first time getinf the flu in a fee years. I don't go out of my way to sanitize, but I do try my best to not kill immunities by avoiding germs at all costs

There's a difference between decent hygeine and going over the top.

Oz's foremost infection researcher did a test, placing university undergrad doctors in hospitals posing as janitors, and found that even in the infectious diseases wards, 40+% of doctors didn't wash hands after visiting the toilet...that's blatantly unacceptable...but making them take an idoine bath before entering your room wouldn't provide significant improvements over basic sound sanitation.

Vit C can help.

i have had a chest cold cause i did my superman imitation not wearing the right jacket outside. glad you are better. just be carfull cutting .
