Getting Calls from All Over the Country.

I get them as well. Every now and then one leaves a message.....same message every time stating they see where I applied for an online loan and that I have won something.

Never applied for an online loan.

They come from all over the US.

I had a plumber over one day in the front yard cleaning out my drain line. In the middle of the job he's gotta turn the machine off to answer his phone. It was a telemarketer wanting to sell him some disposable gloves.

Somebody mentioned nomorobo on the last telemarketer thread here. I googled it and found out my phone company, Verizon, actually recommends it. I just signed up last night, so we'll see if I keep winning those cruises.

I used to get mad about reports of the "latest poll results," thinking "Well, nobody ever asked me."

When I finally sat through a "poll" call, it was clearly an attempt by one candidate to smear a rival by introducing negative talking points. They would ask questions like "Did you know candidate X has intimate knowledge of hogs?" Then, a few questions later, "Considering what you now know about candidate X and hogs, how likely would you be to vote for him?"

A "push poll".

Real pollsters do not intentionally call cell phones, only landlines. This makes the poll results kind of suspect.
