I need to know whats better german casrtol or casrtol edge, I know who they say german casrtol is great, then castrol edge comes out , it coast more but whats better?

This depends on the vehicle its being used in. The two are very different animals , GC is great in a BMW for example where EDGE will not perform as well, while edge for example in 5w-20 would be great in a Ford motor while GC is inappropriate. Basically it depends on your motor really.

I have been using gc for years on my ls1 and ls2 98 ss camaro,06 ss trailblazer.

This question is a lot like "cake or pie, which is better".

You will need to share much more information if you want a rational answer.

And Pi is inherently irrational.

Well if you have a LS1 or LS2 engine then yes GC is better suited for those engines than EDGE in my opinion.

"New GC?" Tell me more.....

Yeah, as far as I know, GC has been unchanged since about 2005 when they went from green to gold. The recent change was just a name change (from Syntec to Edge).

GC is great when you can benefit from an oil that is almost a 40w at operating temperature, or because it meets certain manufacturer specializations such a VW502 and VW505. Also, it is API SL and I think it doesn't meet ILSAC GF4.

Edge is great if you need a different viscosity than GC. Depending on what date the Castrol Edge was manufactured, it meets API SM and ILSAC GF-4 or it meets SPI SN and ILSAC GF-5.

I have Gold Edge 10w30 in my car, and I will be using it for a while because I have enough for 3 oil changes.

Well, they re badged it. So I was wondering if it was also changed.

I just bought a 2008 Audi A3, 2.0T 4 cylinder with 109,000 miles. I know this is an old thread and I'd like to know which of these Castrol oils is best for my engine at this time.
Thanks

You need a VW 502 Approved oil.

Mobil 1 or Castrol 0W-40 would be the most available and either would be a fine choice.

I just left the Castrol website and the Castrol EDGE 5W-40 U.S. product data sheet lists VW 502 00. The Audi owners manual recommends SAE 5W40 across all temperature ranges for normal driving conditions. I'll pickup some Castrol EDGE 5W-40 for my initial oil change.

Thanks for your quick feedback.
