German Castrol Still Available - USA ?

Do you know what % of PAO the two oil formulas have please?? The Euro 0w30 & Euro 5w30?
Thanks
sorry for the delay but you got your answer from another member .
Doesn’t say where in Europe the foreign components are made.
if you mean the 0-30 C OIL, probably in belgium.their good stuff usually is made there or in germany.but since bp took over castrol could be anywhere in europe, bp has a lot of places that blends oil.
BITOG member also ran 300V sample I have sent him to do deposit test and it was a mess.
i missed that,do you have a link ? was it long time ago? which member? i would like to take a look at that UOA.

Your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts will have 0W30 on sale, 5qt + filter for $37.
0W30 is better oil than 0W40. Less volatile.
Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40 would be my choice in 40 grade or Mobil 1 0W40.
Not seeing it for me at least.

For Autozone, no matter what car I pick that has one of the Castrol 0W-30 approvals, it says that it doesn't "fit" the car. I've tried BMW and MB.

I don't see how to get the deal to work.

Then you'd have to go in and exchange the filter for something that fits your car.

Edit: I see in a later post that you have the person working there in the store override it. None of my local stores carry it.

I always confuse PAO & Ester grouping & the Roman numeral V. Thanks.

The last time I bought GC was 2008. The last oil change I did with it was 2010. It was green.

Motul 300V seems to be largely misunderstood. Check the YT videos & oil analysis for the 300v 4T in a motorcycle. Superb results for 8500 miles.
I usually drive my car like I’m tracking it😱😂😁. I’d like to try the Mosul 300V’s one day.

$39.99 +’tax. It was suppose to come with a standard Car quest and he upgraded me to a $17.99 K&N.🔥👏👏❤️

The K&N filter is a downgrade fyi. CQ Premium is an excellent filter.

I’ve run into this before. Try selecting “shop without vehicle“, then add 5 quarts to your cart along with your filter. Go to checkout and see if the deal will apply.

They didn’t offer me a CQ premium. They probably have more margin on the K&N Performance. The car quest premium (maybe extended performance) in a black box were like $18. I’m very happy for $42 with tax.
I’ve always been a fan of Napa & Car quest(especially because they’ve always carried Gates USA made Belts).
Alas, I’d have to see empirical evidence that the car quest is amazing to spend that much.

Worked at Autozone! Thanks!

Unfortunately their 20% off $100 or more didn't work but I could order multiples of the same deal which I'd need because my truck takes about 6 quarts.

What are y’all shopping for ?? AutoZone’s website won’t show me Castrol EDGE Euro 0w30!

Remove the vehicle. Shop without vehicle.
The first time it wouldn’t show Ow3O ( I didn’t have a car log’d in).. I can’t find any deals that work with an oil filter & the 0w30. They’ll let me buy the 0w30 for a discount of $8 a quart I called advanced. He ordered more 0w30 and I’m gonna pick up the same deal tomorrow. I’ll talk to them in person about getting a CQ Premium. The oil filter is free vs paying AZ $8 a quart.
I might end up ordering 10 more quarts from AZ @ $8/ea.
Thanks

Yep, this works. Autozone. I just ordered 10 quarts of 0W-30. Free delivery too. This has been my choice of oil for my BMWs for the last 20 years. I use 0W-40 for our VR6, which is also solid with PAO. That's on sale too BTW.

I'm not a hoarder, but I already have 35 quarts (!) of 0W-40 (in the 5 gallon jugs) and 11 quarts of 0W-30 in stock. Of late I've been putting 5 quarts of 0W-40 plus 2 quarts of 0W-30 in the 7 quart BMW sumps; 5 quarts of 0W-40 plus 1 quart of 0W-30 in the 6 quart VR6 sump.

I’ve never run any of the edge oils or any oils with titanium as an additive. One of my tech loves Edge but he hasn’t given me any logical reasons why he loves it.😂

If it really has 50% PAO $8/quart shipped is absolutely a deal @ the current rate of inflation and the painful costs for high % or pure PAO &/or ester oils.

I’m really looking forward to some used oil analysis on the 0w30 asap. It’s gonna be a LONG time before I can post a used oil analysis with Ow30 as all my engines recently started auto rx & then I wanna try a couple intervals of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Appreciate everyone who contributes to this forum.

Well, I've been using using 0W-30 in my 2003 BMW E46 330Ci ZSP (3K OCI) and our 2011 BMW E90 328i M-Sport (5K OCI) since new. The E46 has 99K miles on it, the E90 127K. Neither use any oil at all. Our 2016 Passat VR6 has lived a life on 0W-40 and has 69K on it. It uses no oil either.

That said, there is more to treating a car right than simply the oil a person selects. For example, I don't rev my engines cold and I use quality filters (Hengst).

FWIW,

Scott

PS I have probably 8 or 10 VOAs and used oil analysis of Edge 0W30 and 0W-40, all my own, and they've shown good results. Last VOA I had done was in 2020. See attached.

Do you just return the extra filter then for the second 5 quart deal, since you have a sump larger than 5 quarts?
