Interesting, must be a recent thing? I guess they must've reformulated for the upcoming Dexos1 Gen3 and decided just to go to .8% ash so they can also claim C2 on the black bottle.

Must've been at the SP transition because the SN+ version was 1.0% sulfated ash and was not ACEA rated. If I recall right in addition to the Edge U.S. version they had EDGE C2, EDGE A5/B5, EDGE A3/B4, EDGE C3, and EDGE LL, looks like they consolidated the C2 and A5/B5 product into the Edge U.S. product.
