I moved to the Atlanta area this year. Coworker told me to check out Summit Racing store in the area. Wow if only I had tons of money. How cool it would be to install a v8 into a vintage vehicle. It was amazing to see the health of aftermarket support for vintage cars. I spent about an hour there just browsing.

I live 10 miles from one of the org stores.. and massive distro center... Tallmadge Ohio.

Its quite the sight.. more so before the internet age.

I sell to Summit/Atech. I head right to their clearance section when I go visit each store and distribution center. Now how do I get that Big Block in the rental car.........

They thread the needle of paying the bills to keep their lights on while selling really cool stuff as well as being the Walmart of speed parts for the everyday driver. I got an e-brake cable for my Prius there-- don't tell anyone, LOL.

We have one here in a Texas (the largest one actually) not far at all from me. I absolutely HATE going there to buy anything. It is a long draw out event You go to the counter and order what you want. Then go to another counter to pay...then wait for them to pull the item and call your name. It literally is a hassle. The upside is everything is available and not shipping. The store itself actually doesn't have much on the floor as it's main purpose is warehousing but it can be fun until you buy and wait lol

Ideally, you want to enter through the doors of this establishment with a brand new credit card that comes with a very high limit. As a gear head, you'll need it. 👍😉

It is good enough and seemingly the go-to place when possible for the gang in the Roadkill and Roadkill garage universe. Must be a good place.

If you have the Summit part number....Go directly to the Cashier, The only time you have to go to the sales corral is for special order stuff like differentials, custom spec wheels, etc......

Weekday mornings except for Friday are usually painless far as wait time to have the parts picked. That place is a Zoo on Saturday!

Summit sales in such volume.......I bet they're the #1 AC Delco & GM Performance parts dealer in the US, I imagine the same is true for Sonnax.

I used to wander the Sparks, Nevada, store on occasion. I bought some Redline oil and fuel system cleaner from there. Roadkill did an engine swap in the parking lot in an early episode.

I was pretty much done buying hot rod parts by then, but I had mail-ordered most of them from Summit when the only location was in Ohio.

I wonder if they still print a catalog. Wishbooking with the printed version was a lot more user-friendly than using their website.

That is great advice! I always have the part numbers when i go anyhow - that is a time saver!
