Is there anyone out there that is in an area with gasoline that does not contain any form of alcohol as an oxygenate, ethanol or otherwise?

I'm fairly sure it is not legal (maybe the right word?) to sell gas anymore for road use without 10% ethanol. There is an EPA mandate, requirement, whatever its called requiring all gasoline meant for automobile purposes to have 10% ethanol.

I think Kwik Fill is non-ethanol gas. I asked the attendant a few months ago while he was pumping my gas and he said it was American petroleum made gas and it was non-ethanol.

Here in Texas. I have not seen any E-85, or anything else. I see either Unleaded gasoline or Diesel, that is all....

There are many areas throughout the midwest that offer gasoline still. My area of Texas only offers E10 though. Some TX, OK, KS, NE, and SD had gasoline on my pheasant hunt trip last November to SD.

Ford does not recommend, for my Mustang, any ethanol blended oil.

I say, Thank God. Ethanol Blended gasoline may be somewhat of an answer to alternative fuels....Lousy miles per gallon, based upon my research....My opinion only......My critics will probably wish to attack me as they have done in the past. I really don't care...........Period

I am glad that I don't live in a state where it is widely available (ethanol blended gasoline).

To me it is a major:

E-85 is all over here in Houston, TX. It's also extremely high octane, we blend it at about 30% with E10 (normal gasoline) with no apparent issues or Check Engine Lights in the turbo racecars. You can run higher blends, but sometimes you'll pop a CEL and risk damaging fuel components.

That's interesting that Ford recommends against any Ethanol fuels...maybe they mean that the Mustang is not a Flex Fuel vehicle/model? I hope that wouldn't be an easy loophole to cause a warranty claim denial!

Only the very sw part of WI requires 10%. The rest of the state can, but usually doesn't. Last summer when gas was expensive and ethanol was cheaper, most places were blending it. Not now, though. I drive from Milwaukee to Minneapolis a few times a year, and the difference is about 1mpg, so I can tell.

At 95% of all gas stations here in Iowa, only mid-grade has ethanol in it. There are some stations that sell only gas with 10% ethanol, and a few that sell two of the three grades with ethanol added. But the overwhelming majority only sell E-10 in the mid-grade option.

I have 1 Shell station 1 mile from my house just east of the county line that sells w/o eth. Neither car sees any difference in performance or MPG with or without.

Aren't stations required to post the ethanol content in the fuel they sell -- a sticker on the pumps? Around The Swamp, the only place I see with the sticker is the Sino-Mart near me.

I actually wrote to Loozyana's Dept. of Agriculture and asked. The guy who wrote back said that the law requiring stations to post the sticker had only just been passed in Dec. of 2008. So I have no idea whether I'm getting ethanol fuel.

There are or were last I was there some stations along I-35 just N. of Austin, N. and S. of San Antonio that had E85 pumps.
It was a pain because they had green handles and looked just like the diesel pump on the other end of the station if you weren't paying close attention. Some stations use green handles for diesel, others use yellow.

How do they do that since mid-grade is usually a simple blend of regular & premium, or is that station a rare exception.

RI_RS4,
Shell did around here until they started the kindergarten ad campaign re: N2 which also ushered in Ethanol.

there is a shell station here that sells e-85, and also puts 10% ethanol in their gas. however it is the ONLY station within 50 miles that i've seen which claims to have ethanol in their gasoline.

ethanol-enriched gas burns up quicker in my car so i never buy it. it might be good for racing but for road vehicles it's worse than pointless, it's counter-productive.

Hal,
If you google NC ethanol, you will find that as of 6 yrs ago NC no longer required stations to post 10% ethanol useage. So we have no idea of the content anymore.
