Gas Prices Are Going Up

Come on people, are we forgetting all the weather disruptions from the ice storms in the middle of the country the last two weeks? Especially in Texas. Where most of the oil refineries are. It doesn't take a genius to understand why gas prices have gone up recently.

Does that include transmission fees? My fees cost me more than the electricity I use!
My grampa is in the same boat, I asked if he wanted any LED light bulbs one time and he said it didn't matter because the fees on his electric bill exceed the amount of electricity he uses so cutting back doesn't really benefit him any since he uses so little as it is.

There are so many added fees on my electric bill that I can't bear reading through them. The fee for the privilege of being their customer was always one of my favorites. For some years there had been another added fee of about $1.75 every month for "customer energy education". That amounted to a twice per year pamphlet about unplugging your standby electric draws.

I forget the name of it but there's some fee that contributes to the light bulbs at select retailers that are subsidized by AEP, I made sure to stock up on several boxes of $1 2-packs of 100W equivalent LED bulbs and $0.97 4 packs of 60W equivalent bulbs when they were available since I already paid for them.

Prices were $2.59-$2.69 last week but my favorite station has a price of $2.44 as of yesterday.

Our gas prices where I live (Central Louisiana-CenLa.) have gone up .30 cents in two weeks! Two weeks ago the average price for regular unleaded was $1.39 a gallon. This morning I paid $1.69 per gallon for regular unleaded.
How much has it gone up in your area?
They are all going up. Get ready for summer prices.

I pay nothing for rags.
Since we swayed towards electric and natural gas cost, why not rags?

I get nice terry cloth rags for $1.00 per pound at the local university laundry. Price hasn't changed in 10 years, unlike gasoline which has had a peculiar characteristic over the past many decades to fluctuate wildly due to many factors. Go figure - that notion that history often repeats itself, in this case, even if you do study it and take heed. Maybe better to just bury one's head in the sand? Glad I didn't buy that gas guzzler last spring.

Good night all. Wishing everyone a good work week.

Paid $3.399 for 91 octane non-oxy this afternoon. Regular was at 2.399, I believe regular premium was 2.899. It was still less than $30 to fill the Volt, which is great.

I don’t buy the logic.....a 5 day cold snap in Texas drives up gas prices all across the nation ???

I call BS !!!
It’s all about taking advantage of the population
Just an accuse to charge more is all it is
If this nation can’t weather a 5 day cold snap
We’re all screwed big time

The oil field guys north of Texas work in much worse conditions most of the time everyday of the week

More than a cold snap. Did you see the pictures of the trucks jackknifed all over the ice covered roads or read about all power outages? Can't refine oil into gasoline without power, and can't ship gas without passable roads.

Pipelines
I live in Georgia
All the gas from Texas is pumped through a massive pipeline system
With thousands of huge tank storage
Millions of gallons in storage
As soon as the cold happen in Texas
Prices started climbing !!!!!
