Gas Mileage down...could be winter formulation of gas, not Mobil DC

I too have been running the new GF-4 Mobil DC 5w-30, and I too have seen my gas mileage go down, but, I would caution everyone not to draw the conclusion that it's the DC that is causing this. From what I've seen we all started trying it in late fall when the gasoline refineries swithed over to the oxygenated or winter blended fuels that typically show a 10% drop in your vehicle MPG. I'm not defending the DC, just stating a fact.

Like I said, I too have seen a decrease of mileage, but so has everyone else at this time of the year when they re-formulate the gasoline to the winter blend. The problem is that when we decide to use a different oil, it'll be at the time that they start re-formulating the gas in the spring, our mileage will get better, and we will assume it's because of the oil.

My mileage is down too. I usually get at least 34 mpg, but now I'm lucky to get 30. I'm using GC in my car. It's the gas. Car's been less peppy too.
