Total Car Miles: 239,866
Miles this oci: 10,053
Oil Filter: ST16 Wal-mart SuperTech
Oil Added: 0
The oil was changed after an hour drive. Most my driving is 70-80 mph interstate with cruise set. I have an 1.45 hour, 103 mile one way drive to work 5 times a week. A couple times during this oci I was running late and did most of my drive at 100 mph the whole way.
The oil filer has been cut open. Media looks great. End caps look great. Adbv doesn't work at all. I do think they have made improvements to the filter. Will post pics when I have time and think about it. The was some almost fine sandy stuff in the bottom of the filter and on the dome side end cap. This is the major reason I like the base end bypasses.
I refilled and replaced with Chevron 5w30 and WIX oil and air filters.

Blackstone comments: Your engine still looks great in analysis. You ran this oil out to 10,053 miles and wear looks as good as it did back in 2009/2010 when you were running only half as long on your oil. The Castrol you used last time (when you didn't sample) likely introduced sodium into the oil, and it's lingering here as residual additive. Potassium is still low, so we don't think this engine has a coolant problem. The viscosity was a little low, but that didn't cause any wear that we can see and fuel is fine, too. The TBN is low at 1.0, so you may want to switch oils to run more miles than this.
