LOL well that just makes to much sense to let it happen.
I welcome this as my commute to and from work puts the sun directly in my eyes for major stretches; When I say "directly" I'm indicating nothing short of a welding helmet works.... the sun is "on the road"

Florida already passed a full time DST proposition and it's waiting on approval from Congress. California votes on permanent DST on Tuesday...actually, repealing the 1949 law so they can move to full-time DST. I would expect that it would take the form of full time, permanent DST when other states vote on this idea as that seems to be the popular choice if they're going to change it.

I guess people are actually following the advice to change your clock - change the batteries in your smoke detector.
How about just doing away with the medieval torture device that is Daylight Savings Time altogether, and just using Standard Time? Works well for Hawaii.

Move to Arizona. They don't change their clocks.
As good a reason as any to move. I'll pack tonite.

If they are going to leave it on one of them, leave it on DST not standard time like it is now, as it's super annoying to have it get dark at 5pm in the winter. And in the summertime it's nice that it's still light outside past 9pm, it would suck to have the sun setting closer to 8pm instead. In the summer during DST it already starts getting light out at 5am, would you really want it to start getting light out at 4am instead? That's wasted sunshine IMO.
