I am looking for a replacement filter which is made in USA for a Honeywell FC100A1037 20x25x4. The Honeywell filters are rated MERV 10. They are made in Mexico. I also have (2) return air filters which measure 20x30x1 but I have those.
Simply Filters which carry the Indigo brand.
These are $153.90 for 6 including shipping.

Synfil Option #1
Synfil Option #2
What is the difference between the 2 Synfil options? Option #2 doesn't look the same & is less expensive. Option #1 is $155.94 for 6 including shipping.

Does anyone have information on these two brands such as quality, fit, etc.? I've never heard of either brand but that doesn't really say much. I would also entertain other brands if they are made in USA. Thanks.

I suspect that performance-wise, they are both similar.

What is your goal in this case? you want micro-allergen filtering capability (choose electrostatic fibre embedded + higher MERV ratings), or you want something just reasonably-priced? (then anything MERV 10 should be fine).

We just upgraded our natural gas furnace to Trane XV95 from an old single-stage unit and to cope with allergies, I put in a 3M ultra-allergen filter (1700 ratings).

Q.

I recently found a 3M Filtrete version of the 20x25x4 at Lowe's. Like the Honeywell, it was pricey and made in Mexico.

The filters you linked look interesting, but their isn't much info on the product pages.

The standard paper is what I recommend.
Replace it every month and forget about expensive filters that promise allergy relief.
The dust falling into the system from above, will just circulate anyway,no matter what filter is on the intake side.

A short filter change interval (FCI)?? I didn't know anyone advocated for short change intervals on BITOG!

$155 for 6 sounds pretty darn expensive! I usually only spend about $5 each for mine, and they are the 3M Filtrete ones with the 300 performance rating. Even the Ultra Allergen versions with the 1200 rating are not much more than $15 or $20 here.

I think that anything above the cheap $2 filters is good enough (I tried one of them once and it clogged up in less than a month and my AC wasn't putting out cold air) Whatever you get, just remember to change them every 3 months (I always change mine on the first day of each new season, so on the first day of winter on Monday I just changed mine)

The filter described by the OP are 4" thick filters. Much higher surface area - these allow for much less flow restriction and longer filter life. In my case, the furnace was fitted with a Honeywell electronic filter that failed (as most of them do) - the 4" filters are drop in replacements for the electronic cells.
