I have not smelt it before, and can't really describe it, but it is similar to burning oil. My cleaning cycle is up in about 300 miles. I do not notice any missing oil, transmission fluid, or supercharger oil. I haven't checked the radiator lately, but i will check it tomorrow. i also ran half a bottle of Reline SI-1 through the car a few weeks back. I think that is about the time that i started paying attention to what it was doing and smelling like.

I am heading out this weekend for about 800 miles round trip, and the stuff will be going in the transmission. I will see if the transmission likes it, and how the oil looks when i get home.

My truck had the funny smell also but it is due in large part to oil leaking. Be sure and don't overfill when doing the auto-rx treatments or it will blow oil out the valve cover gaskets, etc..

I added auto-rx to my transmission this week. Now my transmission is clean or at least it should be since I have a motorguard on the transmission cooler's return line back to the sump. It has cleaned the fluid very well and there was a lot of shavings in the filter media at the first change, now its not as bad although the filter media has discolored badly. The performance of the transmission has been good as it was a 14k mile replacement in my 140k mile mazda b3000 and was just installed in the past 2k miles.

I have ran one auto-rx clean cycle and am on the first rinse cycle with 10w30 chevron supreme 7000 oil and it has not been that dirty but I drained a little from the pan when it was cold and noted that it was much darker at 400 miles that when it was put into the engine.

I had a little extra auto-rx from using some leftover in another vehicle and put about 3 oz's in my transmission and it is smoother, shifting better and the truck seems to be getting 1 mpg better gas mileage (at 20mpg finally). Placebo wants me to believe it was the 3oz added to the transmission that made the change but I'm not sure. I'm going to add another 3 oz or so per the application instructions to see how much better it can be and hope to see the fluid change color. I just added some to the power steering resovoir of my mustang when I was topping it off and will let you all know of the progress there as well.

Good luck and pleast post your results, field data is of utmost importance since I've yet figured out how to drive a UOA to work.
