Fumoto oil drain valve

I would love to try one I'm afraid a branch would open it up while I'm in the woods. Would be interesting to see how much oil is left in the pan after draining.

Man you got busted by the search police.

I have used them on several different vehicles and they work very well. Never had any type of problem with them.

I have almost 200,000 miles on my Fumoto valve. 60,000 on the Accord, sold the car and kept the valve, and another 140,000 on the CRV. Same valve with absolutely no problems with 5,000 mile OCI's.

You can put a ring around the valve to lock the handle if you want.

Thanks for the replies. It seems that everyone is pleased with their Fumoto valves so I'm convinced. Looks like a good way to make an OC easier, quicker and cleaner.

i would definitely recommend getting the valve with the nipple on the end. that way you can connect a plastic tube to it and funnel the oil directly into a container for transport. there's really no need for an oil pan except to catch the oil from the filter.

Had one on my Outback for about 50k now. Other than the supplied blue crush washer having a slight weep, no issues. Makes oil changes much easier.

By my best estimation, the Fumoto leaves less than a cup (8 oz) of oil in my sump. Some folks have machined a notch into the threads to allow for draining this more...but < 8 oz in my 4.5 quart sump is not enough for me to worry about.
