I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey and this darn thing is so hard on oil. Here I am 1,000 miles into my OC with Pennzoil high mileage and when I pull the dip stick I can smell what I think is fuel. Should that bother me. When I change the oil in my Nissan or Toyota I only smell oil. It lives in FL and gets short tripped often as the wife drives the kids 1 mile round trip to school in the morning but even so on the weekends it's not unlike us to put 30 miles running all over town so you know it has to be getting up to temp. Shouldn't the fuel "burn off"

Gasoline is very aromatic, even half percent will make the oil smell fuel on it. You know that there is some oil, but you cant quantify by this method.

The 2005 EXL and touring has the iVTEC, it probably has a clogged PCV. Change the oil at 50% of the OLM or 3-4 on synthetic maximum and change the PCV every 30K.

it cranks quick and all is well that I can tell. Oh and Trav I switched to PP but it started leaking from a few places so i switched to PHM and the leak has all but stopped so I am stuck using conventional oil. Oh and I replaced the pct valve about a 2 months ago.

I always think my oil smells like fuel but the UOA s always come back with very high Flashpoint and no fuel indicators, it doesn't take much l I wouldn't worry about it unless you see the oil level increase or confirm it's presence with a uoa.

Getcha one of these. No gasoline aromatics in the oil smell.
