Hi, I was looking for a high-quality additive to clean my fuel system that won't have any harmful effects. After searching this board, the general consensus seems to point toward Fuel Power and Neutra 131 as the top two such products.

Can anyone explain the difference between the two and why one might be better than the other?

I have a 1995 Saturn with 114K miles, original owner, and have religiously followed the maintenance schedule (want to keep it past 200K).

Thanks!
Ryan

Ryan, 131 can be used in the gas and the oil. So you can keep both ends of the engine clean with one product.

Like John Browning said, 131 can be used in both fuel and in your oil.

However, I am currently using the "MBF" (Molabrew Fuel) mixture as a fuel additive. Its a 3:1 ratio of Fuel Power/131 respectively. I apply it at 1 oz for every 5 gallons of gas.

When I used 131 in oil, I put 1oz per quart of oil.

What results have you noticed?

I am running the brew and believe I am seeing approximately a 1 MPG (5%) increase on highway trips with my Tacoma DoubleCab V6. Am alternating using the GTA product on the same trips and so far have not been able to measure any improvement.

Can someone explain the benefits of using Neutra in the engine oil? I thought it was a fuel additive/combustion chamber cleaner?
