Fuel line question - '93 Shadow

You should have just added to your post instead of deleting. That's how we all learn.

It was pretty obscure stuff, wasn't sure it would be worth much to anybody here. The fuel lines on my 93 Shadow connect to the fuel pump via quick connects, and there's about 9,000 different styles, which presents about 8,999 different ways to get them on and off. These are the connectors on the Shadow, and to be honest, I've never used these before so I didn't know if that black sleeve was supposed to slide out, or be pushed in. (Push is the correct answer). Also wasn't sure if a special tool was needed if they were too hard to press by hand.

I never thought there'd be a video out there about this, but I found one right after I made this post, so instead of troubling everybody here, I just elected to delete it. Sorry. I'm going to endeavor to replace my fuel tank next weekend, and I prefer to get as many ducks in a row as possible BEFORE I'm under the car. 😅

Unsure if the 2" or 3" ring is something that unscrews to get access to the fuel tank. My 93 Suburban had a brass ring that unscrewed and you pulled out the fuel pump and fuel sender assembly.

On the Suburban either someone decided or it came from the factory but that whole area was covered with something like wax from toilet bowl ring (hopefully an unused one!) You scrape away the goo and it was nice and clean and easy to unscrew the brass ring.

Wear goggles. When you pull the tank you are likely to get road crud/dirt all over your face. Ask me how I know!
