Whats the thinking here on gettin rid of the fuel?

I run short trips (2 mile work commute). But the engine is a Nissan V8 and they are usually tight.
BUT its a DI and I understand that would make it more prone to fuel dilution?
I runs a Xw-40 always.

And every other day I drive 40 miles at 85-90 mph.
And once a week another trip for about an hour at around 100 mph (I am in Germany)

I figure this might evaporate the fuel out?

Thoughts?

You need to do oil analysis. Not guess.

But gas fuel dilution is significantly worse that diesel fuel dilution.
I agree. But you need to use the right lab, because I don't think all capture it correctly. Blackstone for example does not - or did not - perhaps someone has an update.

NAPA is around $16 and does fuel dilution. And TBN.

some of the fuel will evaporate but not all.

when you check the oil level, do you smell fuel?
I dont have access to NAPA or Blackstone since I am in Germany.
Oil has 4600 miles on it (RP 0w-40).

Smelled the oil today didnt smell particularily "gasoliny".
Just smelled like used motor oil.

That means either i do not suffer fuel dilution ,or yesterdays' 80 miles round trip on the autobahn evaporated it off.
Which I guess amounts to the same thing.

Yes wouldn't worry unless the fuel smell sticks out.
