I was wondering with modern cars is fuel dilution in the oil still a problem or is it a thing of the past?

It's an issue with very short trip drivers because cars run excessively rich to warm up quickly, thanks to emissions mandates.

Cold weather idling and DI engines are notorious for dumping fuel into oil.

my cars see only very short trips. I have had so much fuel and water in the oil that the oil level has gone up!!! That is the reason I will not go longer than 3 months on a OCI

Perhaps new emissions tuning using extra fuel (rich tune) to light up the cats to burn off the "emissions".

How is your exhaust system? One would expect that with your short trips the exhaust would rust more quickly from the water not being burnt off completely.
