2021 Kia Telluride and 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. Both with GDI and no turbo. 87 octane (almost always top tier if that matters)Depends on the vehicle, fuel used etc.
Generally yes, it will help. But you’ll lose enough MPG that it’s far cheaper to just change the oil more frequently.Would the higher RPM using sport mode help mitigate fuel dilution in any meaningful way?
Apologies if this is a dumb question and/or been discussed as a search didn’t provide any results.
Which lab performed this analysis?I run our CX5 turbo in sport mode a lot. mainly because I just like how it feels and I had no fuel dilution on the single oil analysis I did so with only sample no way to really know for my particular car but I still like doing it![]()
Without knowing the fuel map, the question cannot be answered really. But I doubt it, maybe opposite on turbos.Would the higher RPM using sport mode help mitigate fuel dilution in any meaningful way?

I put my wife's car in sport mode so it doesn't start/stop the engine as much.Would the higher RPM using sport mode help mitigate fuel dilution in any meaningful way?

They're GDI engines. They run just fine on 87. No need to waste money on higher octane fuel. The Hyundai/KIA 3.8 engine has a 13:1 compression ratio. Personally, I wouldn't run anything but premium fuel (91-93 octane).

You can’t really boil off gasoline. Once it gets in there it will pretty much stay there until you drain the oilWhat sump oil temp does it take to effectively boil off gasoline?
The flash point of pump gas is 43c.....You can’t really boil off gasoline. Once it gets in there it will pretty much stay there until you drain the oil
If it burned off that easily then nobody would have fuel dilution on their oil analysis reports. But yet many people (myself included) have had very high levels of fuel even after driving a lot of long highway trips. The flash point of pump gas is 43c.....
Even in winter my oil gets much hotter than this.....
Summer....no contest.
Why do you think gasoline won't burn off?
