1995 plymouth neon, SOHC 67,980miles. i do my own fuel filter replacemnts every 2 years. ive been using a company called DEUSTCH, form autozone. i saw fram also makes fuel filters. and so does amsoil. whcih would be the best fuel filter?

Are Kralinator fuel filters any good?

i believe they're like air filters, in which aftermarket companies don't seem to matter.

You could cut a few open and check, but end the end I don't know how much difference there would be. I guess you could also hook a few up and test filtering and flow capabilities.

For all the AR on the board I am suprised someone hasn't tested something as critical as this.

Fuel filter replacement truly is cheap insurance.

My K1500 fuel pump failed at 120k miles because the previous owner (though other maintenance was religious) didn't know about changing the fuel filter. The existing filter was pretty much clogged when they replaced the pump.

I just changed it out 50k miles later and blew through it. It had a SIGNIFICANT amount more resistance than the new one.

Lesson learned. I'll change it out at 30k miles from now on. Hopefully my new pump isn't fragged.

Did I mention the replacement fuel pump cost $400? At the time there was only GM pumps available...no aftermarket yet.
