whats an excellent fuel filter?

95 plymouth neon, SOHC. i am looking to rpealce fuel filter soon, wondering if theirs a ver good or excelltn filter, other than an autozone brand like DEUTSCH? i was looking at NAPA, which is supposed to be a WIX fuel filter? how about ac delco, or amsoil? the amsoil is rather expensive, ($44.95) the NAPA ($26.99), a fram ($26.99). i am kinda whearing away from frma stuff, if possible, bad enough their oil filters suck.

I like Wix myself. I'm actually starting to use Wix for everything (Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Iol Filter). Never had one complaint about them yet.

We need to start cutting open used fuel filters. I did cut one open that a shop had installed on my truck. I was horified to see that it did not have a support backing the paper filtering element, not to mention the idiot had installed it backwards (I could tell because all the dirt was on the inside of the element).

whats wrong with Deutsch? Ive been using w/o problems. If I got my facts straight, they are a Champion filter.

i've been using purolator fuel filters from advance.

no complaints, other than a defective case on one of them, but it was obvious, so i traded it for a new one.

I like the Douche (heh heh) and the Purolators. The Douches last a long time and the Purolators are a little sturdier looking.

I changed a bosch fuel filter (on a suburu) and it rattled. Cut it open and the filter had dislodged making it worthless as a filter. Luckily it had a second filter up near the engine.

Used the frams on a 5.0l FI and cut them open a couple times they look fine. After witnessing mpg increase and fuel pressure rise with new filter on one vehicle it's become regular maintanence. The filters that were to the point of low pressure were coated with a pinkish waxy stuff I assume from the fuel. NOTHING in my arsonal of garage chemicals would cut it, so I know fuel system cleaners don't do anything for the filter at least.

purolator products always seem to be good...

Dont discount using OE products - mopar stuff seems of very high quality.

OEM for fuel filters. I've had several 'parts store' fuel filters leak.

Yep, its time to murder a bunch of fuel filters for comparison.
