I'm planning on changing the fuel filter on my 2003 5.3 flex-fuel Tahoe. Any pointers on where the filter is, ease of changing, etc?

I've got an '03 Suburban and mine is on the driver's side, more towards the rear half of the vehicle if I remember correctly. You also need a special tool for the connection.

Thanks. I ordered the filter from rock auto a few days ago. If I can't do it myself, I guess its off to the dealer.

I tried every deconnection tool I had and still couldn't get the ff off.

I finally went to my old Snap On tool dealer and he had the specific tool for the job.

It is odd looking on the end but it reaches over the shoulder and into the filter to release the tangs that hold the ff in place.

Darn thing costs $60 and probably it's only use will be our '02 Flexfuel Tahoe.

That sounds more like connectors found on Fords! Haven't seen on GM yet, but they all seem to jump on every nitwit variation the other comes up with to sell more tools or drive customers to dealership. If it's the same as FOMOCO style, OTC and others make $8-12 tools available at any parts store.
