Fuchs PLANTOmot is a high performance, rapidly biodegradable car engine oil, also suitable for commercial vehicles. Unlike conventional engine oil, Fuchs PLANTOmot engine oil is based on esters derived from vegetable oils.

PLANTOmot biodegradable oil disproves the commonly held opinion that high performance and environmental protection are incompatible.

What can PLANTOmot biodegradeable engine oil be used for?
This biodegradable engine oil is a high performing energy conserving SAE 5W/40 oil for normally aspirated and turbocharged diesel and petrol engines in cars, vans, buses and industrial machinery. All engines, regardless of their performance, can be changed to PLANTOMOT 5W-40 without prior flushing. Suitable for year-round use.
Note: Fuchs Plantomot should not be mixed with mineral oils or synthetic oils derived from non-plant sources.

"Can be changed without prior flushing" In the Note: should not be mixed with mineral or synthetic. How is one supposed to interpret that? There is almost always 10% oil oil reming when doing a standard plug drain.

That was the first thing that came to my mind. How much is it? $220/litre.

Like all plant oil, will biodegrade inside engine. Dont use it!

Hi,
this lubricant is no doubt a development of their very successful GT1 that has been around now for a decade and a half at least

Fuch has a long history with synthetic lubricants including esters - dating back to the 1930s

Fuchs is a very reputable lubricant Manufacturer (especially Coommercial varieties) - use as directed with the utmost confidence

It is not so long ago that all ester based lubricanst had to be flushed in and out of service. We've come a very long way!

Fuchs also markets the Silkolene brand motorcycle oils, they are ester based oils, and have always said biodegradable on the label.I just drained some Pro4 15/50 out of a bike I hadn't used for 3 years, getting it back into use.The oil came out looking perfect - I could see though it as it was draining.

I interpret that to mean that the 10% or so that remains after an oil change is not an issue; held in suspension like any other foreign contaminants.
But I wouldn't worry about it as it's nor available in NA.

BTW all esters, no matter how derived are largely biodegradable.
Of course here in NA we have RLI which uses vegetable oils in part.

No, it's $310.15 if converting the non-member, excluding VAT price. It's 20 liters though, so it's about $15.51 per liter. That doesn't include shipping to the US, no idea if that is possible, I'm guessing it would be expensive if it were.

Of course, the upside is that you could resume dumping this oil on the back of your property, since it biodegrades and all
