Is there really a difference between these 4 oils? These seem to be the 4 that get the most attention on here, and I can't seem to find any real difference between them. The UOA always come back good, and no disasterous reports come to light.

I used GTX for years and it kept me engines clean, but have switched to Valvoline recently.

Are these oils worth the premiuim, or are we wasting our money and should just stick with something like Formula Shell?

This is assuming a 5k interval with a quality filter, and that the engine isn't a sludge monster or tough on oil.

I would use any of the brands you mentioned and sleep soundly at night knowing your taking care of your car/truck. I use GTX and rotate with Valvoline. No worries.

I've used all the ones you mentioned in the last several years, except YB, which I have nothing against.

Was using GTX almost exclusively until MC Syn blend hit the market as a cheaper/better value(especially 5-20 Jugs).

Now have a small stash of Valvoline Conv. because I got it on sale. Just had a good UOA with it.

At 5k OCI take your choice with what's on sale. IMO, you could add MC5000 to your list with no worries. Another good value.

I've used Castrol GTX, Valvoline, Pennzoil, and (currently) Mobil Clean 5000 in my Saturn. Whichever is the cheapest is the right choice.

Mobil Clean 5000 can be had at Walmart for an everyday price of $11/5qts.

Yeah, I sure wish I could get the $11.00 Jugs in 5w-20. That would be a no brainer. 5qts=$12.85.

All of the UOAs seem to come back well with these oils, can anyone see any significant difference in the additive packs?
