Update: I received the Bodum 8cup 12pc Frenchie Press today pronto from Amazon..but upon opening, one of the borosilicate cups got damaged in transit via Brown.

I then immediately called Amazon CS and complained of damaged goods received...without much hassle, they agreed to ship a replacement set today overnite.

I'll be ****ed. I just read this "MSN Health & Fitness" article, and tdpark wasn't far off...

"Canadian researchers discovered that men who downed the caffeine equivalent of 1 to 2 cups of coffee an hour before a high-sugar meal experienced 16 percent higher levels of blood glucose afterward, compared with when they consumed a caffeine-free placebo. An important point: When it's not paired with sugar, caffeine increases the rate at which your body burns fat. So, whenever possible, drink the coffee but skip the doughnut, muffin, or bagel. Opt for breakfast foods like eggs and fruit instead; they have little or no effect on blood glucose." http://health.msn.com/dietnutrition/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100123673 (it's a two-pager, the quote is from the second)

I bought a coffee press as a backup in the event of a long power outage (8 hrs for coffeee), and for camping, but mine is a 'Freedom Press'.

I gave the replacement full set to my Chinese co-worker babe. The FP could also be used to make tea..she's into Chrysanthemum tea(from scratch)bigtime.
