Neat stuff. I like the technology and I wish them complete success. I suspect his quoted HP numbers are on the extreme low end of what's possible.

I can see 4 bangers, V6's, V8's etc getting quite small without the head and all too end components. The future looks awesome.

This is the sort of thing that F1 teams have been experimenting, building and lobbying for the FIA to permit for years.

I would have thought that with Pneumatic valves in racing for a long time we would have had that in daily drivers but it looks like this will be the first.

I like the idea of being able to start the engine without a starter. Once this technology gets tried, tested and proven on really expensive cars it will fall through to ordinary cars pretty quickly. Several universities and a few hobby geeks are working with single cylinder engines using this stuff and I'd be willing to bet that it's happening at places like Cosworth, Porsche, and McLaren.
