Nothing wrong with the EG in Ecore form - some may prefer it that way. Nothing really wrong with the fiber end cap version either - just an avenue for people's Fram hate. If you like the SuperTech MP or any other Champ Labs made filters constructed this way then the brand name shouldn't get in the way.

I absolutely agree. As a matter of fact, I purchased a new Extra Guard specifically because it is an ecore with fiber end caps. I've got a Super Tech ST on my car right now that's identical sans the silicone ADBV. I'm looking forward to checking the leaf spring seal area in a used state to see how well it seals. The Fram will go on next if all looks good.
