I had this filter on my 02 Civic. 6,000 miles on this filter along with PP. I was very happy when i open this one up, and don't see why it can't go 10K miles like Fram claims. Looks like this Fram didn't blow up my engine.

Yep,

There are Frams out there that are VERY solid filters.

My wifes Mazda uses a cartridge style. Aparently Fram outsources these, but they are really solid.

The extended guard filters are almost overkill. Good solid filters for sure.

I use the tough guard with no issues.

It's the only FRAM I'd use ... they can keep the others.

The beef with Fram is their lowest priced line of filters.

That pic looks pretty good, looks like a Purolator classic with a better ADBV and different bypass.

That is the only quality filter they produce.

Everyone here has always said that. hehe

ty for the pics.

I'm waiting for more oil to drain, then i'll get an up close. I just use my phone to take these pics. I'll get better quality ones later.

Get some close up shots of the bypass valve too ... like to see how it's designed.

Frams on the left, Purolators on the right... so what are those two filters in the middle?

Green is HAMP and the blue is the old Filtech Honda OEM A01.

Not much if you buy them from him. LOL

I got 3!

During my college years I had no issues using the oil Frams with the orange color attached to them. I admit I don't know how well they were made then compared to now.

With the expense of card these days I admit I would never use an orange can again as long as Fram doesn't tell me it'll go the distance. I'd would rather pay for more protection than needed to cover all my bases.

Durango

The 10 dollar fram the xtendedguard is a very good filter. Probably what I would use if I ever did a extended OCI.

The XG is the only Fram OF I really like.
But for $10 range, I'll take an Mobil 1 Extended Performance or K&N, for 1st choices on true, extra long life filters.
