Fram xg5 cut and post

Running this filter on my 1984 c10 with a 350. Was shocked to see it still had wire backed media. I thought they changed a while back(I took a pic of date code if someone can decipher).
This truck is new to me with unknown miles. Odo works but has been rolled at least once and it's non original engine. 2500 miles on this change with mobil euro 0w40 and 24oz of hot shots secret stiction eliminator. Engine runs amazing an is spotless under valve covers but I still managed to get alot of hard carbon chunks out of the rings I assume.

Interesting to see the filter look so black with just a couple thousand miles on it. Maybe the Stiction eliminator is cleaning a bit.
 
I don't see any wire backing near the ragged edge of the media in this shot - 🤷‍♂️
