I'm about to do an oil change and I was told from here that the fram XG3614 oil filter crosses over to the Kawasaki 49065-7007 filter for small engines, but I haven't found anything. Everytime I cross over to a fram it keeps coming up with a PH8170. Am I missing something?

Looking at the specs, the 8170 appears to be basically the same but shorter. No reason the 3614 wouldn't work just fine, or even the 3600 if you have room for it. I have an FL-400S on the Kawasaki in my John Deere.

Which Kawasaki engine? The 23hp Kawasaki v twin in my Mother-in-law's John Deere x475 uses the Fram 4967. The 3614 fits my Wife's '05 Dodge Neon.

Pretty sure the 8170 is frams "official" OPE specific filter....most of the kawas that people have talked about here usually take the slightly smaller 4967 filter as it is closer in size to the oem filter..but the 3614/3600 also fits and is way more common and a little larger....use either and sleep good

I did not know that. And to think that I have an extra 3614 and was running around getting the 4967. Good info to have for future reference.

Yep, I had a 4967 on mine, then I found out on here that the 3614 will work too. Now I'm using an FL-400S.
