Is anybody aware of alternative filter with a larger can? I'm sure its not necessary but with an almost 8qt sump and running 10k OCI I wouldn't mind increased volume if its availabile. This is for the Ford 5.0L Coyote V8.

Fram XG10575 specs are:
height 4.06
Inside Diameter 22mmx1.5mm Th'd
Outside Diameter 2.984
Anti-Drainback Valve YES
By-Pass Valve Setting 9-15
Style 1
Turning Specification 3/4-1
Base Gasket I.D. 2.454
Base Gasket O.D. 2.756

Wix WL10255 is 4.8" long, while the Ultra XG10575 is 4.1", so you get a little more media area with that one. (Same width, same threads of course.)

Hard to actually say if a slightly filter has more media without actually cutting and measuring.

There have been some instances where a larger can actually had less media area.

The filters for the Coyote are already pretty large, doubt they need anything bigger.

10k OCI is no problem for an 8qt sump if you drive like a normal person

The XG2 would be about the biggest/best possible, as long as it fits in there.

The XG10575 is 100% adequate "in every way, shape, and form" though.

Yeah i dont know why the OP would want a larger diameter filter anyways

I'd be willing to bet if you drop the coin on an XG-anything, the factory size is plenty capable of any sane OCI, 20k rating notwithstanding. Fram really is making upsizing an unneeded art these days, sorry to say.

Sorry if I'm incorrect

I use a TG2 on my 13 ram Hemi and my wife's Chevy Impala uses a XG10575.

I could be wrong but those are 2 different filters for 2 different applications, 53.

The XG on my wife's car is the biggest available for it. The one below it is only slightly smaller, as in 200-300 mils I believe?

The Ford modular 4.6, 5.0 and 5.4 oil filter mounts can handle pretty much any filter with 22mm threads - as long as there is room around it

I like the large oil pan in the 5.0 Coyote engine. The oil in mine seems like it stays clean for a long time. I might try the longer filter though just to see if I like it better. The 5.0 is a nice engine IMO.

It's not listed, 53.

The TG2 on my Ram is a rather large filter, (it dwarfs my wife's 10575) so that is why I was thinking it wouldn't like work/fit on the OP's car? The 10575 on my wife's car, is a decent size, imo, for her application (3.6 L engine) but due to room (lays horizontally) near the rad, that is as big as I can go I believe?

The xg/tg 2 is the biggest 22mm filter fram sells, and it will fit in the same place as the 10060/10575 as long as you've got ample room around it. Same thread & gasket. The Ford FL820 will also fit in place of the FL500, and, AC PF26 will fit in place of the PF48, too (same cross-ref to the fram #'s) as long as there's room. I've looked into this before for a prior truck.
