Fram Ultra vs. M1 EP

I believe the Fram rep mentioned in a thread here not to run them past 15K as is indicated on the box.
I know many guys do and few if any seem to have any problems.
It seemed the media integrity was more of the question than dirt holding.

Amsoil claims their EAO filters can go for up to 25K.

I haven't seen a longer claim from a spin on, but am curious what you guys have found.

Here's a good video about the whole Amsoil filter line-up. They have the 25K and also a 15k version of the Ea series.

Thanks Z.

Nice of Amsoils channel to make this vid. Last I checked I couldn't find anything like this from Amsoil themselves.

What isn't clear to me is what the EAO (25K mile unit) is fitted for, I can't find one that fits anything I have.

I have had a F U Fail. The leaf spring failed and the element was loose in the can, what was the efficiency of the filter then ?

Regardless of the filter brand being discussed, there will always be someone to post something negative about it.

These full synthetic filters have the capacity to go those kinds of miles but the variables scare oil manufacturers and filter manufacturers. You have to use oil that can go that distance and since nearly all engines will use some oil, it is very important to check and add oil when needed. We have seen many modern cars that use 1/2 qt in 10 miles and some that use 2 qts in 10k miles. That owner of the second car goes 15k without checking the oil and he is running around 2.5qts low at change time.

They can go 30k provided they do not get dented, smashed, rusted, the oil is top shelf and checked added when needed. The 15k is just risk mitigation.

How many years could a FRAM Ultra go in California?

Is 6 years with less than 5000 miles a year feasible?
