Hello, I use the fram ultra synthetic oil filter and do two oil changes at 6,000 miles, The most miles I used the ultra synthetic was 14,000 miles . For the guys that use this filter,. What's the most miles anyone ever put on the fram ultra synthetic oil filter? I know there rated for 20,000 miles....Thanks.

I use the XG10575 on my Dad’s F150 for two OCI’s which works out to anywhere from 15k to 18k miles. Also have an XG7317 on my Outlander PHEV since its first oil change at 1800 miles. It’s at 23k now but at least half those milies have been on battery so really not that much use.

What about time. If I only do 4 K to 6 K miles a year, how long would a Fram Ultra Synthetic be good for?

I already purchased a Fram Ultra Synthetic XG7317 that I will be putting on my 2016 CR-V. I'm planning on using Pennsoil Ultra Platinum 0W-20 and may run the filter for 2 OC. The MM seams to click off 10% a month even if the miles are low. I'm planning on changing oil when it gets down to 20%

So, time wise, if the miles per year are low, how long are they good for?

BTW, I painted a white stripe on the bottom from the center out to one side so I can tell if I am able to tighten it 1 turn past contact as directed on the box.

Done several 20, and lost count of how many 15's prior.
My Honda only " wants" an FCI every other OCI, Freeway use gets me 20K.

I may just run the Lexus 30K, but by the time pull the aero to I inspect it for rust I could swap it.
Ive cut every one open - not once did anything look packed from a pleat perspective, but that more about my vehicles than the filter.

I think Stude53-Adam did 20k on a TG.

That crazy guy did 28,000 miles on a Tough Guard! I only do half as much on an Ultra.

The OP might have to dig around this site but I seem to remember someone on BITOG reported taking an Ultra all the way to 30,000 miles on I think a Honda, like an Odyssey minivan.

I do two consecutive OCI on an Ultra with my 2018 Subaru and usually go a little bit over the recommended 6000 miles before changing the oil each time. I do not want to push an Ultra beyond that due to bypass concerns with the Subaru engine.

I don't do it anymore either.
Just did it to see how good they were. I don't even do 20k either.
I also like the updated Fram EG. Now. My questions were answered.

My normal oil change is 6,000 miles, I did 7,000 with two oil changes so that's 14,000 miles total. Guys getting a lot of miles out of these filters.

There's a guy on youtube that use the Purolator Boss oil filter that's rated for 15,000 miles, He put 18,000 on the boss and it looked great. I prefer the Fram ultra synthetic filters.

I'd say 3 years with no worries. Wire backed synthetic media. If you're doing 6K a year, then go two years.

This filter has a tendency to slice/cut the ADBV in semi circular patterns.

He claims he did it and Ive seen this before and cant imagine its the filter cutter in all of them?

Seems like he's throwing away pretty clean oil to me, but hey its his oil...

He mentions some runs were a cocktail of oil.
Kind of answers that old question - none stuck out. (reinforcing what we already know)
