Fram Ultra as secondary transmission filter?

The Auto transmission on 2008 and earlier subarus use a filter. The filter bypasses must of the oil and only filters a small portion. The aftermarket ones filter 100%. There are reports that some folks using the aftermarket ones have had problems. If you go this route..purchase a Genuine Subaru filter.

Honestly though If you do a drain and fill every 10K miles you will probably be better off.

i put an auxiliary filter kit on my f250 right after i got it. i just use a regular Quaker State/Purolator oil filter or a mc

right, i use a smaller filter like the ph16 size or the smaller version of the 3600, can't remember the number for a fram but a purolator L10241 or mc FL 910-s
