Filter was off the girlfriends coworkers older KIA Spectra. Doesn’t look too bad but seam is uhly. Put a Federated filter and some HPL NO VII 5w30 in and on.

There’s a wicked gap at the bottom of the glue seam. Thanks for the pics! I’ll stick to only metal crimped seams forever, lol.

What’s sad is I’m seeing lots of these on our work stuff that quick lubes use.

Yep, pleat seam gap looks bad ... probably a leak path. Looks like it was that way when the pleat ends were glued to the end cap. Probably not the norm, but one that experienced a bad manufacturing quality issue.
