FWIW, and as wondered, possibly expected, the latest PH3614 is no longer the same. It has the Champ plastic cage center tube and Champ date code. A base plate like I have never seen before, different, big flat area around center with a 3 stamped. So not cutting it open yet. I like it a lot for $4. Looking in with flashlight I see what looks like whitish felt material, very thin band around bypass valve. So it’s probably not metal end caps, perfect for not leaking. It’s also about 3/8” or so shorter than before, and the can flutes are deeper and different. Product of USA on dome. Doesn’t say made in. Put finger inside, no burs on threads, no dirt seenby eye inside.
Maybe TG will be changed or already is.

Update, on last pic I noticed adbv is looking off to one side. Sure enough it is, and I can see a gap, not sealing. Big fail. Huge fail. Adbv must not be centering on that big flat are. OMG this is amateur. From flowers to mud in one minute.

I can take the bypass leak a little over the adbv leak a lot. it will be returned. So this revised filter was already shown? I saw only old ones.

I must say most here know this but your pictures and filter paint job sure are purty

I've had a Champ EG sitting around for a while now waiting to be spun on. ADBV on mine looks very slightly misaligned but not to that degree.

Thanks it’s just an ipad. I don’t know I was looking at a thread about the old 3614 and it seemed comments weren’t saying it is old news. Why post pics of discontinued filters to complain about things wrong with it?

Btw please point to the other thread pics of this new version posted here that most knew about already. I guess I don’t spend enough time reading every post every day.

It's not that. The jist of my comment is most don't expect anything stellar from Fram these days... no search required

thanks for the cut & post. typical e-core felt ended fram jobber orange can. looks good has quite the gasket - sticks out a good amount.

The felt cap in the last picture is definitely not centered correctly. Leading to misaligned anti drain back valve
The whole cartridge looks like a sloppy fit inside the can too. There needs to be larger numbs on the edge of the end cap to center it better inside the can.
