Get this, when the filter was installed, dry, the engine did not even make ANY noise upon startup. Explain that.

My conclusion ... it's not the filter along. Must be other factors involved. If it was due to the filter draining the oiling system, then it would rattle like crazy with an oil change and a dry filter start-up.

I currently have a P1 on my engine. Why have I not had any rattle or ticking from using this filter? Or, a FL-400S?

For the same reason it didn't make any start-up noises after an oil change and a start-up with a dry filter - the oil galleries & lifters didn't drain enough. Next time you change the oil, let it drain over-night (or at least 4~5 hours) so the oil galleries & lifters drain out ... then install a dry filter and see how it sounds.

Those filters with the silicone ADBV prevent the oiling system to drain back after it's sat for a while.

Or maybe your F150 is possessed!

I have installed filters dry and upon startup there was a slight rattle/tick.
When I fill them with oil there is no noise.

The filter I used was a Fram PH8316 with a nitrile conventional ADBV and then the second ADBV in the core. The one BOF used was a Wix (Napa Gold version) with a silicone ADBV and second valve in the core.

I also did not get any start up noise on dry start up. Enough resistance to open the bypass then? I had intermittent start up rattle thereafter though, I had to take it off after about 500 miles.

I dunno, but it didn't work for me or BOF and the only significant difference I can spot is the bypass setting unless the second ADBV is somehow messing with the flow at start up.
