FRAM oil is now available @AAP

It’s called integrity and truthfulness in marketing. Some blenders and manufacturers are able to truthfully label which approvals and specifications the product actually has and which are suggestions. Some have a more difficult time not obfuscating between the two.

This one however fails even at the typical obfuscation in that they list competing approvals that are contradictory. That makes it a complete fabrication. This isn’t marketing it is bull.

The Blender prob got this table from Lubrizol who could have supplied the DP.

Where were you during the "Fully Synthetic Oil" corporate "obfuscation"?
The BIGGEST lubricant lie unleashed on the unsuspecting public in the last decade

Would I use this in my New BMW turbo 6 - if I owned one - unlikely.
Would I use it in a generator or Older VW or Audi or in a vIntage Hot rod that would require a 40 grade oil?

Id give it a try. But certainly not if Castrol was sitting next to it for 5 bucks more a jug.

Known and Trusted does have some weight when I vote my oil dollars

Plus the Mercedes-Benz approvals aren't written correctly for actual approvals. I couldn't find this brand on the VW nor the Audi list either.

That Amale segregated listing seems to be another fabrication just like the Fram list, only worse.

That’s pretty messed up for a huge auto parts chain to unleash on the public - using a trusted brand name.

Amailie has their own blow molding facily in house - at least for Qt bottles.
So wouldn't the blender have something coded similar to a "WPp" on the base of the jug that we can decode?

I'm not running this or planning to, but I'm confused now.

What is the consensus on who is the 5W40 FRAM lubricant blender?

I'll see if I can find an SDS; this often is telltale.

I am, at least for 3-4k miles. Then back to VIOC to use the credit they gave me. That will be Valvoline Euro VW508.00.

How are you liking the EcoSport? Did you get it to replace the leased Jetta 1.4T?

Amailie has their own blow molding facily in house - at least for Qt bottles.

The 1 qt bottles of FRAM oil look exactly the same as the Carquest ones, down to the embossed circle emblem near the top.

It was on sale for 17K out the door, I couldn't resist.
But I would NEVER have considered it if not for:

2.0 L Mazda/Ford 166HP(!) engine
6-Speed traditional planetary automatic with LOW LOW gearing; it goes through 3 gears by 35 mph then its in fourth!
AWD with multi-link independent suspension.
Very Comfortable seat for driver and front passenger.
Excellent apparent interior build and parts and materials quality
It is built by Mahindra in a Ford Joint venture in Chennai, India near the East India Co. Trading

Right now I have a bit of AWD drivetrain vibration at 55 mph.
and the wheel Alignment could be tweeked a tad, it'a very twitchy, IMO
Gas mileage is only 22mpg around town - not great at all but that from 12-316 odo " breakin" miles.
the little thing weighs 3300lbs unladen.

I am missing the VW somewhat. Fantastic interior usability and comfort.
But I am glad to have AWD this winter - even with B'stones slippery Ecopia tires

I don’t think so. As PimTac said, RGT is or will be discontinued. Autozone got rid of it last year, together with VME.
They just swapped the Carquest brand for the Fram, or so it seems.

Thanks - I need all the help I can get when it comes to cars

I REALLY wanted a performance car for my last car,
but a base Camaro LT-1 I went to buy this late fall - with the big V8 and 6 speed MT - the shifter was atrocious on that sample.

And a base Mustang GT I went to check out on sale just seemed "cheap" and I don't like the new nose at all or that shiny black plastic between the tailights - how cheap can you get ! That is unforgivable in my book. I will say the shifter felt fantastic on the ford GT, I thought the transmissions were the same?

I still don't know who made that 5W40 oil you are running.
Does it matter? Its a 5W40 and it has additives and detergents.
Nothing will blow up or wear out in 3500-7500 miles

Did the jug have " AOC " blowmolded into the bottom?
Regardless of OEM blender, We also know that the alternative Conoco-Phillips blends good oil too.
- but for some reason, I don't see a 5W40 being in their wheelhouse.
