Seems like a slow post day, so I thought I'd post some differences between a made in USA model and a made in Mexico (I think?) version of the Fram FS12020. I never noticed how different they were TBH, from physical differences to where the date code is stamped (hard to read on both of them) and the format of the date code.

Think the original Titaniums were made on a Fram production line, and the later one with the Champion Labs stamping on the dome are (where) obviously made by Champion Labs, and therefore has Champion Labs design features. The 2nd one is made in the USA too ... says so on the dome. Look at the box on the 1st Titanium, probably says made in the USA.

Trying to figure out how the later Champ Labs one was a true “Titanium”-no full synthetic media, and no shaped inlet holes to induce swirling inside(?)-it’s like a ToughGuard, but TWICE as expensive!

The Champion Labs version was by name only. Even the Fram built one went through the stages of loosing the wire backed media and the sealing fiber gasket on the leaf spring before Champion Labs took over production.
